About Biodiversity Net Gain Hub

Biodiversity Net Gain Hub (biodiversity-net-gain-hub.co.uk) is an independent educational website about biodiversity net gain in England. It is not Natural England, Defra, MHCLG or any local planning authority, and it is not endorsed by them. It publishes plain-English explainers cited to dated GOV.UK guidance, a non-statutory estimator, and a directory of third-party providers. It does not sell or broker biodiversity units.

How the hub is funded

At launch the hub is self-funded. The planned model is labelled premium listings in the directory, processed through Stripe, plus soft enquiry referrals to listed firms. Paid placement is always marked as such and never alters the educational content, the estimator or the FAQs. Any affiliate or referral relationship will be disclosed on the disclaimer page when it exists.

How content is sourced and kept current

  1. Primary sources are GOV.UK guidance pages, the Planning Practice Guidance and Natural England publications. Each is cited with its last-updated date.
  2. Pages carry a visible review date and a matching dateModified in structured data and lastmod in the sitemap. Dates change only when content changes.
  3. Estimator assumptions are versioned and printed on the calculator page so that any estimate can be reproduced by hand.
  4. We do not publish reviews, ratings or testimonials we cannot verify, and we do not publish city-by-city pages.

Contact

Brand mailbox (active at launch): [email protected]. We do not publish personal email addresses or mobile numbers. For official queries about a specific development, contact your local planning authority; for the statutory metric, see GOV.UK.
