Biodiversity Net Gain Hub can be contacted by email at [email protected]. We answer questions about the guides, the estimator and the directory, and we take corrections and listing requests. We do not sell or broker biodiversity units, and we cannot advise on a specific planning application — the official routes are linked below.
What to contact us about
- A factual error or an out-of-date GOV.UK / Natural England source on any page (include the URL and the source).
- A question about how the estimator's assumptions work (the version and assumptions are printed on the calculator page).
- A listing request or an update to an existing directory entry — see the directory page.
- A broken link or an accessibility problem.
We aim to reply within 5 working days.
For the things we cannot help with
- Whether BNG applies to your development, and what your local planning authority will accept → your LPA's planning department.
- The statutory biodiversity metric and the official gain-sites register → GOV.UK.
- Baseline surveys, metric calculations and habitat management plans → a CIEEM-member consultant ecologist (see the directory).
- Section 106 agreements and conservation covenants → a planning solicitor (see the directory).
